Which service
Which fire restoration service fits your situation
Most fires call for the services in roughly this order. Emergency protection of the house comes first when windows, doors or the roof were opened. Water damage from firefighting comes next, because wet materials start to grow mold quickly in Dallas heat. Then cleaning begins: smoke damage cleanup for residue throughout the house and soot removal for heavy deposits near the fire.
Belongings are handled through contents cleaning and pack-out. Lingering smell is handled by smoke odor removal, which often includes HVAC and duct cleaning after a fire. Every service is carried out by an independent local contractor you are connected with on your call; this site does not do the work itself.
If the fire was small, you may need only one or two of these. If it was large, you will probably need all of them, coordinated by one restoration contractor. Either way, the contractor should explain the order of work and put the plan in writing.
Each service page goes into depth: how the work is done step by step, what can usually be saved, what homeowners can safely do themselves, how Dallas housing changes the job and which questions to ask before work starts. Sources are listed at the end of every page.
